My Escape to Maggie Stiefvater's "Shiver"

My Escape to Shiver-land has now ended. I have finished the 390 page book.

From cover to cover of this hardbound novel I was enraptured. The cliff hanger ending makes me want to go get the second book-- "Linger". Without a doubt I have to know what happens next.
The 3rd book has a release date of July the 12th. I will be reading this one as well and writing a review of each of these books.

Sam is a most endearing creature. He longs for so many things. A misguided and tortured soul who wants only one thing in his life. I bet you can guess what this is.. but I am not going to tell you.
Grace is also a vibrant soul. Maybe I should say stoic on the outside. Her life is captured when she was young and since that time, her life circles her back to the one thing that is a constant. Like the fates of our daily lives usually do.

I cannot say enough about this book. It is very hard to not give away the many poetic and meaningful scenes inside these pages. Every last letter on every last page was worth it!

I hope you find your next Escape inside this book and eventually this series. It is one of the best I have seen in its genre in a great while.

Thank you Maggie Stiefvater for letting us Escape to Minnesota and to Boundary Wood. I know I cannot wait to visit with Sam and Grace again soon!

Maggie Stiefvater's 'Shiver' makes you shiver with emotion!

My current Escape: SHIVER by Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver has captured me from page one. I am having trouble putting it down!

Sam and Grace are compelling, well written characters with a depth and passionate air about them.

Their struggles and triumphs are both intriguing and sweet.

The twists have you on edge, never knowing whats going to happen next!

Picture a cold winter- one of those that makes you not want to leave the house. A young wolf scours the woods with his pack trying to find food.. They see her- they attack. But the young wolf locks with her eyes and can't let go.. she is powerless.. fragile .. He can smell her blood see her torn clothes.. but there is no struggling from her.. She is connected to his yellow eyes.. to him... he halts the kill.. from his pack.. his friends... his family...

Grace is the "she" Sam is the young wolf.. can they connect human to wolf? Boy to girl?? Find out soon!

Stay tuned for a full review soon!

I am almost done with this first book in the 3 book series.

Top 10 Recent Escapes!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
This is my most recent Escape please see other posts for a full review. It's the first novel of the 3 written. Loved this book. A recommendation to all!

Devoured by Darkness by Alexandra Ivy -- Each one of the books in this series is a grand escape. A steamy - suspenseful ride into the unknown mind and heart of a vampire who finds love in the strangest places. Beautiful books really! Tane is cold at first but Laylah warms him up! Gotta read this series of Escapes!

Awakened by P.C. Cast (# 8 in the House of Night Series)this latest novel by P.C. is a continuation of the previous 7 books. It continues a story that is both magical and stunning. This series is in my top three reads overall.

Goddess of Legends by P.C. Cast (Most recent in the Goddess Summoning Series) These books by P.C. are what every woman in the world should be reading. They contain all the greatest aspects of a novel - love, sex, great story, present day and old world 'scenery' etc etc. They are profound in their retelling of many of the stories we know. If you have a fondness for powerfully enriched women, then these are the books for you. They are funny, tearful at times and the books are a great look into the lovely myths and legends and stories that have been passed through the ages. Very well-written novels each special in their own way and at the end you will close the book.. look around you, and smile. :)

Highland Vampire by Hannah Howell - This book was a darker Escape I picked up while waiting impatiently for another vampire book to be released. I do not regret buying this novel. It was a typical Hannah Howell love story but with an immortal at the forefront. The vampire waits.. helps and falls in love with a beautiful maiden. A little traditional for a vampire novel but very good as well.

Taken by Midnight by Lara Adrian (Most recent in the Midnight Breed Series)-- This series is top notch! the escapes are so vivid.. they follow a large storyline that connects to the reader like Alexandra Ivy's novels do as well. The larger and somewhat omnious story is the backround for these hardcore vampire warriors who are hard at work in the Alaskan wilderness. The frozen landscape makes no difference to them but something or someone is being hunted and they are hot on the tracks of a fierce being. Jenna -- the vulnerable yet strong will ex-policewoman is torn to shreads by recent events and theres only one strong armed warrior to mend her wounds and heal her heart. Brock! This whole series is superb!

Crave (Fallen Angels, Book 2) by J.R. Ward (First book in this series) This escape and its partner book scream for a 3rd novel to continue its awesome story. Not a vampire set but they create a modern angel laced world. The eternal battle of good versus evil reigns as the backbone of these two very deep - very well written Escapes.

Covet: A Novel of the Fallen Angels by J.R.Ward (Second book in series)

The Immortal Highlander by Karen Marie Moning Steamy - Not vampire but so worth the read. A gorgeous novel with a great suspenseful ending.

The Velvet Series by Jude Deveraux This historical romance series is grouped together in this list because even though I have read them all I still consider them in my top Ten Escapes of all time. they will most likely be in all the top Ten lists because I revisit them all the time. This series is a treasure of mine. It is an older series and some stores do not have them any longer. But if and when you get these Escapes you will love them and treasure them as much if not more than I do. This is one series you need to read in order (unlike me) due to the stories intertwining. Beautiful love stories set in the far off magical lands of Ireland and Scotland.
